June Favorites // 2019

Well, here we are again - another month down, another one to go! June was an interesting month, transitioning from spring to summer, the temperature already heating up and my weekends getting busier! I was able to squeeze some adventures and new experiences in, and I’m really excited to talk about them!

Weekend Camping Trips

This last weekend marked my first camping trip of the year! Andrew got me into camping last summer and I’ve been eagerly awaiting the chance to get back out in the wilderness. For the first time, we were staying at one campground for the entire weekend, choosing to do this instead of hoping from one place to another each night.

We camped at Cougar Rock Campground, in the Mount Rainier National Park. I was so excited for this adventure! We were able to use some of our new gear and equipment and make our little campsite our home away from home. During the day, we hiked part of Mount Rainier, saw some adorable wildlife critters, and relaxed by our campsite fire pit. I love being able to get away with Andrew and have a weekend where we’re taking it easy - no phones and service are a plus too!

SoulCycle

Since I moved out, one thing I’ve missed is my former gym and the classes I used to take. I would take a bootcamp and kickboxing class during the week, but when I moved further away, it didn’t make sense to continue going. I’ve realized that I’ve been missing a workout class atmosphere, so I decided to check out SoulCycle.

SoulCycle is a high intensity spin class, with a strong focus on music and connection. I was a little nervous to try something new on my own but bit the bullet because it was something I really wanted to do. My first class was tough, but all the employees and other riders really helped me out, when it came to renting specific shoes to adjusting the height of my bike. I also picked a class with an instructor who seemed energetic with lots of experience.

I have now been to two SoulCycle classes and am really enjoying myself!

Lemon Sugar Cookies

Boy oh boy, is my belly happy. I recently tried out a new recipe and baked lemon sugar cookies. I was looking to try something that had a summery flavor that wouldn’t take too long to put together. I found a sugar cookie recipe that I was able to change up and make my own. If you haven’t seen it yet, you can find my recipe and blog post here, and I hope you enjoy them!

What were you loving in June?
