Great Disneyland Photo Spots - By Land!

One of the best souvenirs from Disneyland, beyond mugs, shirts, ears, and treats, is a photo that captures the park’s magic and happiness. It’s a snapshot of shared memories, moments frozen in time, and pure joy and wonder.

With photo opportunities around every corner, Disneyland makes it easy to capture everything from selfies and family portraits to candid moments that document the Happiest Place on Earth. You’ve likely noticed the many Disneyland photographers stationed throughout the park, pointing guests toward popular hotspots, including by the castle, with characters, in front of King Arthur Carrousel, or near the Matterhorn.

But what about the spots that are a little more off the beaten path? Places where you can maybe avoid the biggest crowds while still capturing that classic Disney magic? Below, I highlight some great photo spots in Disneyland, organized by each land!

Main Street U.S.A.

When people think about photos on Main Street, I’m sure the first thoughts are the Walt and Mickey statue or Sleeping Beauty’s Castle. Don’t get me wrong, those are both exceptional areas and you should definitely snap some pics there, but one that’s not as thought about is the fire station on Main Street! You’re likely to have less crowds, especially first thing in the morning and in the evening.

Adventureland

Not only is the Tiki Room one of my favorite attractions in Disneyland, it’s also an ideal spot for pictures! The lush backdrops and vibrant colors are perfect for photos. Don’t forget to include a Dole Whip in your pic!

New Orleans Square

With French Quarter-inspired architecture, colors, and ambiance, this land is chock full of Instagrammable hotspots. The shopping area in New Orleans Square especially has a lot of pockets where you can snap some pics without having to worry too much about dodging other Disneyland guests.

Bayou Country

Tucked away behind Harbour Galley in Bayou Country is a small trail that many people miss. From here, you can wave to guests on Mark Twain’s Riverboat, see logs from Tiana’s Bayou Adventure after the big drop, and get some pictures without so many people accidentally walking in front of you.

Frontierland

If you’re looking for somewhere to take pictures in Frontierland, consider heading across the way from The Golden Horseshoe, next the Mark Twain Riverboat boarding area. Here, you can get views of the river and greenery from Pirate’s Lair on Tom Sawyer’s Island, as well as the rustic exterior of the land.

Fantasyland

Fantasyland is full of photoworthy spots, making it hard to choose locations people might not immediately think of. While “it’s a small world” is a classic backdrop, try stepping just a bit off center. To the left of the “it’s a small world” toy shop, you’ll find a spot where you can capture a great photo with the ride in the background. Directly across from it, blue-and-white walls provide a magical, timeless look for photos.

Tomorrowland

If colorful or unique backdrops are what you’re after, Tomorrowland has a couple of standout spots. One side of Star Tours is lined with vivid, alternating shades of blue, while the opposite side features sleek, metallic details with a futuristic feel.

ToonTown

Toontown is packed with fantastic photo opportunities—Mickey’s house, the CenTOONial Park fountain, the line for Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, and more. For a spot that feels a little more hidden, head behind Minnie’s house to find a charming tea party setup. It’s cute, unique, and wonderfully picturesque.

Galaxy’s Edge

I know, I know, the Millennium Falcon is the obvious photo choice. But trust me, it’s obvious for a reason. Skip the crowded spot directly in front and move off to the side instead. You can still capture an iconic shot!
